Getting rid of acid reflux “taste!”?
Posted on November 13th, 2009 3 commentsI am beginning to experience acid reflx. I have a doctor’s appointment coming up. But, in the meantime, how do I get rid of the horrible after-tast that is left in my mounth (throat) after an episode? I have tried milk, crackers, soda, and even Pepto Bismol, but nothing is working. Help please!Related posts:

Tums may work. Not sure though.

First of all, if you have acid reflux, do not drink milk. It will only create more acid in your stomach. What I do to get rid of the taste in my mouth, and it also helps control it alittle is to chew gum. I myself chew Juicy Fruit, which I find to be the most effective. Don’t buy any type of mint gum though, as that will also add to the acid, as does cinnamon flavored.

The taste will stay with you for a while, but try to change you diet in the meantime by avoiding acidy foods & drinks.
