    • Stay away from any tomato product, chocolate, carbonated beverages, coffee.

    • Don`t eat spicy foods, or fried foods, or foods that high in acid, like tomatoes, no chocolate, caffiene, or peppermint or spearment candy,, if you kinda notice when you eat and what you eat, you will find out what bothers it. Go to acid reflux diets on the net, it should give you a list/

    • I personally have this problem. We are all different, so what may be good for me may not be good for you. I have to avoid greasy, spicy foods and dairy.

I make rice and potatoes for starch, vegetables without sauce (fresh, frozen or canned) and lean cuts of meat. (chicken breast, lean ground meat. Pasta is good with a small amount of olive oil. I always try to test my boundries, and if I go too far I have a little dab (real little) of baking soda in a glass of water and it goes away quickly. (dont do if you are sensitive to sodium)

    • My fiancee has acid reflux, and our doctor gave him a strict diet:
Since he likes tea, he is limited to one glass of tea a day and very little coffee. But he isn’t a coffee sriner anyways.
One hamburger a week—the fats and acids in it upsets his stomache.
No spicy foods at all and very lilited pizza.
There are also medications that can be taken-one is Prevacid, and your doctor may also give you some antibiotics at first as well. Pepto bismo doesn’t seem to work for Josh, but he eats alot of tums and cough drops.

    • Go on the BRAT diet for now. That is Bananas, rice applesauce and toast. You can have anything that is spicy or has fat in it. So, soups without cream or spices…chicken noodle is fine, saltines. Toast with applesauce or a little p. butter and jelly. A grilled cheese with little margarine to toast it. You can have turkey or ham sandwiches. No coffee, soda or tomato or acid containing things. Everything else is OK. What medications are you on? If you are taking a few make sure it isn’t one of them causing it. I took elavil for yrs. and had acid reflux. I take it no more and have it no more. Got rid of two meds and a big pain in my life. No milk, maybe some tea, decaf…or jello dissolved in hot water to drink. It is good really. No soda. Drink water and add lemon or some flavor if you must but no soda. Fruit like peaches in a can. Go over the meds with the pharmacist, they may need to be taken at different times with food or something, experiment but stay away from acid.
Now, I am going to ask you to call your Dr. see about getting checked for H. Pylori….call tom. You may have to go in. Ask for it. It’s a blood test and it may be the whole problem. It is a very prevalent disease and it is easily cured. Taking the acid reflux drugs can help it happen, stops the acid that prevents the bacteria from forming….a catch 22 for us. So, ask and insist. Please. Anyone else having this problem really should be tested for this also, it is a blood test and is treated with antibiotics and prevacid or prilosec…so it is an easy fix. If left untreated it can turn to cancer and I do not want to scare anyone, I just want people to rule it out first. Please.
Also, the poster below is right about the vinegar too.

    • This may sound crazy, but start taking vinegar every day — 2 tablespoons in a glass of water 3 times a day.

I had acid reflux bad for quite some time. I found several places on the Internet that talked about vinegar and its many health benefits. Acid reflux was one of the conditions it helps. I tried it, and now, just 3 weeks of taking vinegar, the acid reflux doesn’t bother me at all! I am so amazed by it! You would think it would make it worse, but vinegar is actually a neutralizer in the body. It has made a believer out of me!

      Google health benefits of vinegar.

    • I have acid-reflux but its never hurt my stomach. Its more a matter of what NOT to eat. Avoid dairy products & probably fruits & vegetables. Until your stomach settles, eat something like crackers/bread. Its ok to have turkey or roast beef for sandwiches. Rice.

Acid reflux usually happens when you go to bed within 4 hrs of eating. That’s when I’ve found it best to take an anti-acid.

Have you seen a dr about your stomach aches? Since you obviously have a computer, see what comes up when you search ‘acid reflux.’

    • basically anything just stay away from the spicy food

    • This may help…
